MoT exemption for pre 1977 vehicles
from 20 May 2018 - The
exemption applies to most vehicles over 40 years old (on a rolling
basis). While there is an MoT exemption legislation requiring vehicles
to be safe remains applicable.
Amongst those
not exempted are those vehicles that have been substantially changed.
Full
information can be found HERE
on the "Gov.uk" website.
The
Club's insurer Footman James has a statement on Mot Exemption well
down on this
page which states that if the vehicle is used when unsafe or
unroadworthy it will void the insurance.
Historic
Vehicle Tax Class - While this is now rolling
it is not automatically applied but must be applied for. Full details
from HMRC can be found HERE
and a clearer statement from the DVLA HERE
